Lürssen’s *Octopus*, launched in 2003, has been a pioneer in luxury explorer yachts, designed for adventure and extended voyages in extreme conditions. This 126-meter vessel, originally owned by Microsoft co-founder Paul Allen, was built with a perfect blend of science and luxury. Recently entering the charter market, *Octopus* now offers incredible expeditions for adventurers, researchers, and travelers, featuring spacious interiors designed by Jonathan Quinn Barnett.

The yacht is outfitted with advanced exploration technologies, including two helipads and a hybrid propulsion system. *Octopus* boasts a comprehensive list of luxurious amenities, from a pool and gym to a cinema, observation lounge, and a basketball court. It accommodates up to 12 guests across 13 suites, supported by a crew of 63. *Octopus* has been a versatile vessel, facilitating both scientific explorations and extravagant charters.

Paul Allen’s vision for the yacht included cutting-edge features, such as an internal dry dock for launching large tenders, making it ideal for venturing into remote regions. As one of the world’s most iconic yachts, *Octopus* has traveled to destinations like Antarctica and South America, offering a balance between adventure and high-end comfort. Available for charter at €2.2 million per week, it continues to set standards for both exploration and opulence.

Espen Øino’s design remains a marvel of engineering, ensuring that the yacht’s form meets its functional requirements for extreme conditions, while still providing luxury at every turn.
